In-House Basketball 2022-2023 season

Welcome to the EVAA In-House Basketball program!  The In-House program is excited for the upcoming basketball season in 2022-23.

Practice Days and Times for the Winter Skills Sessions

 Skills Sessions will take place on Saturdays in January and February (1/7, 1/14, 1/21, 1/28, 2/4, 2/11, 2/18, and 2/25).

  • Kindergarten BOYS and GIRLS - 
    • Saturday mornings at 9 am at Oak Ridge Elementary.
  • 1st Grade BOYS -
    • Saturday mornings at 10 am at Oak Ridge Elementary.
  • 2nd Grade BOYS -
    • Saturday mornings at 11 am at Oak Ridge Elementary.
  • 1st grade GIRLS -
    • Saturday at 12 pm at Oak Ridge Elementary.
  • 2nd grade GIRLS -
    • Saturday at 1 pm at Oak Ridge Elementary.

Kindergarten Program ~  $60 per session...

The Kindergarten Program introduces the basic skills and fundamentals of basketball.  It is meant to be a fun introduction to the sport.  There is a second session so the kids can work on their skills all season long!  You may sign up for either session or both sessions!

  • Boys and girls are combined
  • Session 1 - 11/5, 11/12, 11/19, 12/3, 12/10, and 12/17.  Session will be at 8 am at Oak Ridge Elementary.  
  • Session 2 - 1/7, 1/14, 1/21, 1/28, 2/4, 2/11, 2/18, and 2/25.
  • *Sessions over Martin Luther King Jr. (1/14) and Presidents' Day (2/18) weekends may not have practice. It will depend on instructor/gym availability.

  • Kindergarten Coordinator needed to lead and organize stations for each session - EMAIL tomadd23@gmail.com if interested in being the lead!
  • Parents and Coaches will help run stations under the directions of the Kindergarten Coordinator
  • Players will receive an EVAA shirt with their name on it
  • Program Fee: $60/session
  • May sign up for one or both sessions.  Session 1 is NOT needed to participate in session 2

1st Grade In-House Program

At the 1st Grade level we focus on the basic skills and fundamentals of basketball.  The teams weeknight practice will be with other teams of their gender (see times and location above) so all teams and coaches can work together on the basics of basketball.  Saturdays will be 20-30 minutes of team practice followed by a 20-30 minute game.  

  • Program fee: $90 for the In-House season (November - December)
  • Program fee: $60 for Saturday skills sessions on the following dates - 1/7, 1/14, 1/21, 1/28, 2/4, 2/11, 2/18, and 2/25.
  • *Sessions over Martin Luther King Jr. (1/14) and Presidents' Day (2/18) weekends may not have practice. It will depend on instructor/gym availability.

  • This is a developmental league where scores will NOT be kept.  Rules will be taught as the games are being played.  
  • Boys and girls are separated.
  • Depending on numbers, 1st and 2nd Grade Girls may be combined.  
  • ALL 1st-Grade GIRLS will practice together.
  • ALL 1st-Grade BOYS will practice together.  
  • No game on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
  • Players will receive an EVAA reversible jersey for In-House. 
  • Players will receive an EVAA t-shirt for Saturday Skills Sessions.

3rd Grade - 6th Grade In-House Program -

  • Everyone will be part of the SOUTH SUBURBAN YOUTH BASKETBALL LEAGUE (SSYBL)  
    • EVAA has teamed up with Farmington, Rosemount, Eagan, and Mendota Heights to offer a more competitive environment for players to play basketball without the level of commitment of the traveling program.
    • Our goal is to continue to teach and advance one’s basketball skills and along the way teaching more team development. 
    • This age group will have a 1 hour Saturday sessions on the following dates, 11/5, 11/12, 11/19, 12/3, 12/10, and 12/17.  These sessions will help build the skills they need for their In-House season.  
    • Saturday sessions will serve as their 'try-out'.  Coaches will run these sessions and place kids on teams based on these Saturday sessions.
    • In mid/late December teams will be announced.  Beginning in January they will have a weeknight practice as well as a Saturday practice/game.  The season will end with the SSYBL Tournament over the weekends of February 18 and 25.
    • Games will be played on Saturdays in January - February at area schools, starting on January 7th.
    • Games are officiated by a referee service.
    • Seeded End of the Year Tournament over the weekends of February 18 and 25.
  • Program fee: $150 for combined Skills and In-House Seasons (no longer separate...must do both Skills AND In-House)
  • Saturday Skills Session dates: 11/5, 11/12, 11/19, 12/3, 12/10, and 12/17.
  • Boys and girls are separated.
  • Players will receive an EVAA reversible jersey for In-House and a EVAA t-shirt for Saturday skills sessions.
  • Tentative Practice Times for Winter Practices...
    • Beginning in January - 3rd grade GIRLS - Mondays (6:15pm) and Saturday
    • Beginning in January - 3rd grade BOYS - Tuesday/Thursdays (6:15pm) and Saturday
    • Beginning in January - 4th-grade GIRLS - Monday (7:15pm) and Saturday
    • Beginning in January - 4th-grade BOYS - Tuesday (7:15pm) and Saturday
    • Beginning in January - 5th/6th grade GIRLS - Monday/Thursdays (7:15pm or 8:15pm) and Saturday
    • Beginning in January - 5th grade BOYS - Monday/Tuesday (7:15pm or 8:15pm) and Saturday 
    • Beginning in January - 6th grade BOYS - Tuesday/Thursday (7:15pm or 8:15pm) and Saturday

**For those of you who have been in the program before...there is no more optional SKILLS sessions, the skills and in-house season have been combined

***Gym dates, times, and locations are assigned by the district.  Those dates/times/locations may vary from week to week depending on how much time we are allocated.  I will do my best to stick to the above schedule or work with the coaches on what works for their schedules!
