EVAA cross country is open to boys and girls entering grades 3-8 in the fall of 2019. Early registration is $60 thru July 31st. Late registration is $75. Registration for 2019 will be opening in mid-June. We highly encourage middle schoolers to join their school's team. However, we also realize that some kids may enjoy the flexibility of the EVAA program. We only meet twice per week (instead of 5 days a week, like the middle schools), which allows kids to participate in other sports.
The season runs from August 5th thru September 26th. Basically, the first 4 weeks will consist of 2 practices per week and the last 4 weeks will consists of 1 practice and 1 meet per week. All meets will be 1 to 1.5 miles in length. Cross Country meets all take place in the south metro area; Apple Valley, Eagan, Farmington and Rosemount. (NOTE: due to construction we will not be racing in Lakeville this season)
The team is made up of runners of all levels - from beginners to kids that have been in the program for 4-5 years. Typical 1-mile times range anywhere from 6 to 12 minutes. During the season we emphasize having fun by incorporating relays, obstacle courses, and other fun activities into our training. Practices will be held on Mondays and Thursdays from 6-7 PM beginning and ending at Johnny Cake Ridge Park East, located at 5800 140th Street West in Apple Valley.

"My son really enjoyed his experience. Thank you for making it fun! I think he is hooked. This is the first time that I really noticed him pushing himself to do the best he can do. He was even practicing over the weekend without any encouragement from his mom or I. You made the experience one where he could grow." – GL’s dad
"I wanted to thank you guys one more time for your efforts this year. After every meet my son says "I am never doing this again", which was then followed with "when is my next practice". You do a great job of making running enjoyable and fun and it is great to see healthy, fit and happy people at the meets." – TM’s dad
"We really, really appreciate that you chose to add 7th & 8th graders to the team. It meant a lot to those kids." – JM’s mom
"Thank you for your training and giving my son the confidence to compete in something like this given he just turned 8!" - WK’s mom
"Thanks for talking with my son about his running today. He takes your insight seriously. You're a great coach!" – SS’s mom
