Eastview Soccer Club Takes Action to Save Young Athletes' Lives with AED Donation

The Eastview Soccer Club has partnered with the City of Apple Valley and Advocates for Health to donate AED units for the safety of young athletes. Sudden cardiac arrest is the leading cause of death in young athletes, and the club aims to have AED units accessible within 60 seconds of the fields. A new AED unit has been placed at Quarry Point Park, available to both athletes and the general public. Check out this article to see how far we have come!

New Swimming Program Partnership

EVAA is proud to partner with a USA Swimming Bronze Medal Club, the Riptide Swim Team, to introduce a fantastic competitive swimming experience!

This program will take place at the beautiful Bluewater Aquatic Center in Apple Valley and will be led by Riptide’s licensed USA Swimming Certified coaches with the help of the Senior swimmers volunteers.

This dynamic, five-week program starts in July (July 31-August 31). This is not a swimming lessons program; rather, it’s a fun, high-energy opportunity to see what it’s like to compete in the sport of swimming. Swimmers will develop physical, mental and social skills through an introduction to stroke technique, competitive racing, racing strategy, starts & turns, cardiovascular development, workout structures, dryland training, performance nutrition and the USA Swimming organization.

The practices will run M/W or T/Th. 4:15-5:15pm. 10 sessions guaranteed over this period of time.

The registration will be open to swimmers in 2- 8 grade with a total of 40 swimmers. (20 for each session)

Registration fee is $90

Registration deadline is July 28

Includes:

  • Parents' meeting July 31 5:15-6:15pm.
  • Riptide Swim cap and program t-shirt (EVAA)
  • Swim meet on September 1
  • Complimentary assessment the last week of the program
  • Trial practice with the Riptide Swim Team upon completion of the program, if interested

Scholarships Awarded

EVAA awarded $7,000 in scholarships to graduating Eastview High School Students - Congratulations recipients and to all graduating seniors!

Eastview High School Trap Team

Lightning families - did you know that we have a Trap Team?

Our Eastview Lightening High School Trap team was one of more than 340 high school teams with nearly 7900 student athletes competing in the 2023 Minnesota State Hight School Trap Shooting Competition.  The Trap Team had 27 shooters this year from across our middle schools and Eastview High School.  I would like to thank the Head Coach Pete Nichols, our assistant coaches and Range Safety Officers for a great spring season.
