Dear Apple Valley Parks and Recreation System User,

Thank You for Your Feedback

Over the course of the last several months, we have engaged the Apple Valley community to learn what changes residents want in our parks and recreation system. Residents have provided feedback through social media, email, social pinpoint comments, at informational meetings, and through the first of two statistically accurate phone surveys. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts!

Prioritized Projects, Cost Estimates, and Tax Impact

We have used the results of the first phone survey to create a short list of projects that residents have indicated they support. Our website has been updated to reflect these priority projects and we invite you to review the updated website and become familiar with the details. Please visit the website here.

Second Community Phone Survey

The City will contract with the professional public opinion firm, The Morris Leatherman Company (MLC), to perform a second statistically accurate community survey to gauge resident interest in a potential parks bond referendum that will preserve and protect our parks and recreational facilities. MLC pollsters will be conducting phone surveys using technology that allows them to access Apple Valley residents via a traditional land line or a cell phone. Pollsters will complete 625 phone surveys to provide the Council with information regarding resident’s level of support in a parks bond referendum.

The City will use the survey results to help learn:

  • Is the revised list of projects a priority for residents?
  • Is the proposed tax impact supported by residents?
  • Are there projects not supported by residents?

Public Open Houses

To learn more about the process and the list of prioritized projects, you’re invited to join us for an open house where we will be available to answer questions about the list of prioritized projects, cost estimates, and tax impacts. See the schedule below.
