Dear EVAA community members:

You may be aware that the city of Apple Valley, Parks & Recreation team are planning a referendum to support upgrades and expansion of space across our area.

Since last year, the EVAA Board of Directors and its programs, have been given the opportunity to help shape concepts that we feel balances the needs of our community with those of our Association.

These concepts are now available for public review and comment.  Once refined, the process will continue with further survey and finalization of the plan.

All goes well, we would see a vote put forward for Apple Valley residents one year from now.

This is an exciting process and a rare opportunity.  It is vitally important that every stakeholder gets the chance to review and weigh in on the plans.

Below is a link to an overview of the Referendum strategy, timing and concepts for review.

We are asking that you take a few minutes of your time to provide your feedback, good or bad.

Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.

Thanks for your time.

Jess Smith
EVAA President

Dear Apple Valley Park and Recreation System User,

Thank You for Your Feedback

Over the course of the last few months, we engaged the community in Phase 2 of an engagement effort to learn what changes residents want in our parks and recreation system(s). Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts, as there were over 2,400 visits to the website with over 4,000 responses.

Draft Concepts Created for Park and Recreational Facilities

We received great feedback through the public meetings we held and the emails we received. From this feedback, we have developed multiple, community-driven concept plans. How did we do? We’re asking the community to review and comment on park masterplan and recreational facility upgrade concepts.

Please Share Your Comments

Follow this link to review and provide your thoughts about each concept through October 2022. Your feedback will be used to develop a single concept for each park and recreational facility.

Public Open Houses

We’re excited to share improvement ideas for several of our City parks and recreational facilities. You’re invited to join us for an open house where project staff will be available to answer questions about the draft concept plans that showcase ideas for park and recreational facility upgrades. No Current Referendum Actions

At this point in the process, we want residents to know we are still gathering feedback and gauging community interest in a parks bond referendum. The City Council hasn’t decided what may or may not be a part of a referendum — or even if we will have a referendum. More information about Phase 3 and 4 of the planning process can be found on the website.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for your help as we plan ahead for the future of our City’s Parks & Recreation system.

Sincerely,
Eric Carlson
Apple Valley Parks & Recreation Director
