WELCOME NEW FAMILIES AND OLD FRIENDS

Spring has definitely Sprung, and like you, we are ready for Summer!  Spring sports have all but kicked off and we’re working on some fun summer activities you can take advantage of.

We are seeing a lot of new families in our community and are enjoying seeing participants in the last come back to volunteer.

Since COVID we’ve worked hard to be a more efficient organization as we work every day to open access to safe, affordable, and fun athletic experiences for kids of all ages and levels of skill.

We’ve been making investments in our infrastructure that should translate into a better experience for you, whether it be getting specific program information faster or taking less steps to get through a registration.

Please like us on Facebook and bookmark some of the links below to keep connected and informed.  If you ever have a question, send an email to questions@evaasports.org

We will continue to work quietly in the background so all you hear are cheers, whistles and balls hitting bats.

If we ever get too noisy, just let us know.

Thanks for your time and putting your trust in this organization.

Update from the Eastview Baseball Board:

  • The Eastview Community Baseball Board hosted a Spirit Day at an Eastview High School varsity baseball game on May 2nd.  There was a food truck, yard games and the youth baseball players were recognized between an inning.  There were many baseball families that participated and shared that it was a fun-filled event. This was a great event to get the kids excited to start the baseball season!
  • We have successfully launched a program to train 12U and older baseball players to umpire in-house baseball games.  The baseball players have started to umpire games this spring and they have been embraced by the players and community overall.
  • Tournament Updates
    • The traveling baseball program sent 12 teams to a tournament in Wisconsin Dells in May. Our teams did very well and enjoyed the community building experience.  The 10AA team got first place and the 9AAA team got second place!
    • The In-House baseball program participated in the Inver Grove Classic in June and the 3rd grade Royal Blue In-House team finished in second place!
  • Upcoming for Eastview Community Baseball
    • Eastview hosts the MBT State Tournament every year.  The tournament is happening this year from July 8th through July 10th.  This brings roughly 2500 families to our community.  Tournaments are our main fundraising opportunity, and we couldn’t accomplish this huge task without the help of our volunteers!  We would like to share a huge THANK YOU to our volunteer community!

PROGRAM DETAILS

Cross Country is open to boys and girls entering grades 3-8 in the fall. Registration opens on June 1 and closes on July 15.  The fee is $62.  We highly encourage middle schoolers to join their school’s team. However, we also realize that some kids may enjoy the flexibility of the EVAA program.

Our season runs from August 15-October 1. Generally, the first half of the season consists of two practices per week and the last half of the season consists of one practice and one meet.  Practices will be held on Mondays and Thursdays from 6-7PM at Johnny Cake Park East, located at 5800 140th Street West in Apple Valley. We meet in the grassy field south of the parking lot off of 140th street.  All meets will be 1-1.5 miles in length. They take place in the south metro area; Apple Valley, Eagan, Lakeville, Farmington, and Rosemount. All schools aim to have the meets on Thursday, but occasionally another day may be used based off of location availability.

Our team is made up of runners of all levels. Typical 1 mile times range anywhere from 6-12 minutes. Personal growth, positive attitudes, being supportive teammates, and having fun are our goals. During the season we emphasize having fun by incorporating relays and games into our training.
