Volunteer Opportunities

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING - VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

The EVAA Cross-Country Ski Program is volunteer led and needs support from families that are part of the program to create a successful experience for the skiers. As part of the registration process families commit to volunteering with the program. Examples of volunteer opportunities include:

Group Leader:  Leads a group of skiers, using provided curriculum to guide the sessions. Skiing experience desired.

Assistant Group Leader: Assists the Group Leader with the weekly on-snow sessions. No ski experience necessary.

Equipment Manager: Reviews the rental equipment needs of the program, coordinates the purchase of additional equipment and repairs of current equipment, and oversees distribution and return of rental equipment.

Assistant Equipment Manager:  Assists the Equipment Manager with the acquisition, distribution, and return of rental equipment.

Weekly Host: Supervises one or more of the weekly sessions to help ensure skiers connect with their Group Leader, directs latecomers how to meet their group, and helps ensure all skiers are re-united with parents at the end of the session.

Board Member: The EVAA Cross-Country Ski Program has a five-member Board of Directors. The Board meets twice per year to help set the overall direction of the program. No ski experience necessary. Positions include President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, and At-Large.

Webmaster: Help design and update the cross-country skiing web pages on the EVAA website.

Wearables Coordinator: This position coordinates ordering and distributing t-shirts to all skiers, Minnesota Youth Ski League (MYSL) hats to first-year skiers, and MYSL pins to all skiers completing the program.
